On tests with four choices (say, A, B, C, and D), B was slightly more likely to be correct (28%). Remember, the expected likelihood of each option being correct is 25%. And on tests with five choices (say, A, B, C, D, and E), E was the most commonly correct answer (23%). C was the least (17%).
Multiple-Choice Test Taking Tips and Strategies Read the entire question. Answer it in your mind first. Eliminate wrong answers. Use the process of elimination. Select the best answer. Read every answer option. Answer the questions you know first. Make an educated guess.
Multiple-Choice Test Taking Tips and Strategies Read the entire question. Answer it in your mind first. Eliminate wrong answers. Use the process of elimination. Select the best answer. Read every answer option. Answer the questions you know first. Make an educated guess.
Come up with the answer in your head before looking at the possible answers;this way,the choices given on the test wont throw you off or trick you. Read all the choices before choosing your answers. Eliminate answers you know arent right. Dont keep on changing your answer.
A multiple-choice question (MCQ) is composed of two parts: a stem that identifies the question or problem, and a set of alternatives or possible answers that contain a key that is the best answer to the question, and a number of distractors that are plausible but incorrect answers to the question.
Answer it in your mind first. After reading a question, answer it in your mind before reviewing the answer options. This will help prevent you from talking yourself out of the correct answer.
Every answer choice on the SAT will have a statistically even distribution of 1 in 4 for each answer choice letter, A, B, C, or D. In other words? There is no most common answer on the SAT. Ultimately, guessing C (or any letter!) will give you the correct answer only a statistical 25% of the time.
The common belief that MCQs are easy is not correct. Often the options are deliberately tweaked to make it appear as it all are correct. There is thus no room to bluff.
How to ace multiple choice tests Read very carefully. Take the time to carefully read each question and answer choice. Come up with your own answer. Look for common types of wrong answers. Eliminate answers in two rounds. Do not obsess over your choices. Manage your time. Answer every question.
In multiple-choice questions, first, B and E are the most likely answers in 4- and 5-option questions, respectively and, second, same answer is least likely to be repeated in the next question. Outlier answers are less likely to be the correct answers.
