hey everyone iamp;#39;m brian parks in this video iamp;#39;m going to take a wpf app thatamp;#39;s written in um net framework and iamp;#39;m going to upgrade it to the new.net new.net5 so the the title down here is actually wrong iamp;#39;m not really upgrading it to.net core iamp;#39;m upgrading it to net5 and why thatamp;#39;s important is if you havenamp;#39;t been following whatamp;#39;s been going on with net recently uh net framework has been around obviously since uh the very late 90s i think the first version came out in 1999 it might have been 2000 but itamp;#39;s basically about 20 years old and then over the past several years uh development on net framework the the core platform has kind of slowed down in favor of net core and net core has gone through dot net core one dot net core two dot net core three and now the uh the latest lts release and up until i think two weeks ago the latest release ga release was dotnet 3.1 now as of again a couple weeks ago theream
