Hello. Im Katy, and I work at the Curriculum Materials Library at Grand Valley State University on the Grand Rapids-Pew campus. Today I will be demonstrating how to properly use equipment found at the CML. The Ellison die cut machines allow you to punch out shapes quickly and easily. There are a variety of shapes, including several styles of the alphabet. We have a binder with examples of our Ellison die cuts. It also has idea sheets. The Ellison web site has numerous projects ideas. If you want your end product to be laminated, please laminate your paper before using the Ellison die cut machines. When using our small machine it is helpful to trim your paper before using the dies. You can punch up to six shapes out at a time if you are using our regular construction paper. When using the dies it is important to make sure that your paper covers the entire shape. Place the die on the gray plate and slide it underneath.
