This is a very common question we get asked. “Die Cut” means that the sticker is cut around the contour of your design. Unlike stickers in the standard shapes of a circle, square, or rectangle, die cut stickers will be completely customized to the shape of your artwork.
Through cut labels are not attached to a roll or paper sheet like roll labels are. Instead, the surface and carrier material of the label is cut through, which means the labels can be handled individually. This is particularly useful if the labels are intended to be given to someone or inserted in a package.
In the world of printing, a Die refers to a thin, razor-sharp steel blade that has been formed into a specific shape or pattern (sort of like a heavy-duty cookie-cutter). Consequently, Die-Cutting refers to the act of using this sharp die to cut paper, cardstock, labelstock, or other substrates into various shapes.
Die cutting is the process by which custom labels get their shape. Whether you want your products' labels to have a simple rectangular or oval shape, or to have a more exciting form, they are cut into shape by a metal "die" during production.
Cut-and-Stack Labels Simply put, these are labels that are printed in bulk on large sheets, cut, and stacked. The gluing process is mostly handled at the packaging stage. For instance, in the case of postage stamps or envelopes, licking activates the glue and makes it possible to stick on the desired surface.
Die cutting is a fabrication process that uses specialized machines and tools to convert stock material by cutting, forming, and shearing. In printing, die cuts are used to create custom shapes and designs for labels.
Some shops and clothing designers do not want someone to resell them, so they destroy the tags so a buyer knows they are “waste” and will not be sold at full price, and so they aren't considered new or “fresh stock” and should not be resold as such.
Hot Cut/Heat Sealed Cut using a heat process resulting in a flat label with no folds. This seals the edges. These can be sewn (gernerally on four edges), tacked, adhered, or ironed on. Other finishes are available on request such as mitre fold, laser cut into the shape of your logo, or continuous roll.
All labels are required to have pictograms, a signal word, hazard and precautionary statements, the product identifier, and supplier identification.
Cut-to-size sticker printing is the process of cutting around your sticker's exact shape and size. A laser cuts through the adhesive and backing material, so each sticker is individually cut and separated. Cut-to-size stickers delivered in stacks, making them the perfect promotional giveaways.
