On the View menu, click the Insert tab and click Header. Look toward the bottom of the list that appears and click Edit header. Click the box that says Different first page.
Click or tap where you want to start a new page without the header or footer. Go to Layout Breaks Next Page to create a section break. Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections.
By default, the margins are 0.75 inches at the top and bottom, and 0.70 inches to the left and right. Click the Page Layout tab. Click the Margins button. Select the margin size you want to use from the list.
To remove a header from the second page, but keep it on the first page, make sure you enable Different First Page from Insert Header. Delete any text thats in the header area for the second page.
Margins are a section property. That means you cant change the left and right margins for the header or footer without also changing them for the body of the document. To work around this behavior, use an indent and aligned tab in the header. You can do so manually or by modifying the Header or Footer style.
Right-click the Heading Style and then select the Modify option. At the bottom of the Modify Style dialog there will be a button that says Modify, click this button. Select the Paragraph option. Within the Paragraph dialog change the option for Spacing, After to be a lower number.
To change the height of header or footer, you can drag the height bigger or smaller as you need in Page Layout view. Then dragging the top margin up or down as you need to change the height of the header. If you want to change the height of footer, dragging bottom margin to resize.
To specify custom page margins, click Custom Margins and thenin the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right boxesenter the margin sizes that you want. To set header or footer margins, click Custom Margins, and then enter a new margin size in the Header or Footer box.
Remove headers or footers On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. Click the left, center, or right header or the footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page. Press Delete or Backspace.
Go to the Header and Footer tab above and uncheck the Link to Previous box. Remove the words Running head: from the second page.
