want to create some overlapping text in illustrator lets dive in well start with the type tool click anywhere on your canvas and write out the text you want select your font and change the size or click and drag while holding shift to fill the canvas once youre happy with your text right click create outlines and then right click again ungroup and now you have four solid shapes to work with next you want to arrange your text to create the formation that youre happy with use the selection tool highlight all your text come to object path offset path and select an offset for your letters and you can use the preview to see where the overlaps are happening once you press ok use the selection to the highlight all again just to see those overlaps and then if you want to rearrange this arrangement you can highlight the individual letters you can rotate them you can make them bigger and you can create an arrangement that works for you finding them when youre happy with that highlight them
