Starting in Data Management, select the Setup tab. First, Ill add a custom target application. The data you extract from Planning is staged in our target application, before exporting it to a flat file. For Type, select Custom Application. In the Application Details section, enter an application name. On the Dimension Details tab, add a row for each Planning dimension you want to export. The Target Dimension Class, is determined by the dimension type. The Data Table Column Name contains the name of the column in the Data Management staging table. Crooks is a lively, sharp-witted, black stable-hand, who takes his name from his crooked back. Like most of the characters in the story, he admits that he is extremely lonely. When Lennie visits him in his room, his reaction reveals this fact.
In the book Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Steinbeck makes Lennie a very sympathetic character because of his lack of intelligence, his kind heart and his large body type.
Man vs. Man. The physical fight that takes place between Lennie and Curley is an example of a Man vs. Man vs. Himself. The climax, or turning point, of the novel occurs when Lennie accidentally kills Curleys wife. Man vs. Nature. Man vs. Society.
George Returns As the white men leave Crookss bunk, Crooks calls out to Candy and tells him to forget about him coming to work on the farm. Of Mice and Men: Chapter 4 ends up with Crooks alone in his room, rubbing liniment on his back.
In sharing his vision of what it means to be human, Steinbeck touches on several themes: the nature of dreams, the nature of loneliness, mans propensity for cruelty, powerlessness and economic injustices, and the uncertainty of the future.
In Chapter Four, its Saturday night and most of the men have gone into the nearby town to go to a brothel , leaving behind Lennie, Candy and Crooks (a disabled man who works in the stables and is the only black man on the ranch), as well as Curleys wife. Lennie goes to Crooks room in the stable.
During the conversation, Lennie tells Crooks about the dream of owning a farm. Crooks doesnt believe that it will ever happen. He starts to question the relationship between George and Lennie. During this conversation, Crooks asks Lennie what he would do if George got hurt.
The three main themes in Of Mice and Men are: dreams. loneliness. companionship.
Curleys wife shows many sides to herself in chapter 4, she starts off being very nice and friendly, to getting slightly annoyed at the men and finally to get very upset at how she is constantly ignored by the other ranch workers and her husband. read more.
Lennie tells Crooks about the land. What is his reply at first? Crooks tells Lennie that he is nuts. He says hes seen hundreds of hands come and go with the same dream of having a piece of land, and none of them ever actually did get any land.
