Click Analyze tab Volumes and Materials panel Volumes Dashboard . In the Volumes Dashboard, select the volume surfaces and bounded areas you want to include in the report so they have a check mark next to them. Click Generate Cut/Fill Report.
Cut and fill excavation, also known as excavation and embankment is the process where excavators move and place volumes of material to create optimal terrain for a road, railway or canal.
Perhaps the simplest (but most time consuming) method is to plot the sections on gridded paper and count the grid cells of the cut and fill areas. Multiplying the cell count by the area represented by each of the grid cells gives the cut or fill area for the section.
Select the alignment and sample line group to sample, then click OK. Change Quantity takeoff criteria to Cut and Fill or other desired criteria. Map the sampled surfaces to the correct object names, then click OK. The sections should now show hatches that represent the area of volume.

Generally, designers generate drawings called Cut and Fill Diagrams, which illustrate the cut or fill present at any given site. This drawing is quite standard, being no more than a graph with site location on the X-axis and fill being the positive range of the Y-axis while cut is the negative range of the Y-axis.
Just go to Analyze tab and select Volume Report. You will get a report like the following one, showing the volumes of cut and fill at each section. You can also add a Total Volume Table to your drawing.
