buying tickets online for the most popular gigs festivals and theatre shows has become an increasingly stressful and expensive business often involving a lot of frantic mouse button clicking and websites crashing people often complain by the time they find out about a gig its sold out so despite the fact that ticket prices seem to have risen astronomically in the last few years these things often seem to sell out in a nanosecond what often happens is that at 9am when youre actually ready to buy the tickets it then flashes up at 902 all the tickets are sold out well dont panic at that point and dont give up you need to keep refreshing the page the ticket website might say that its sold out but youd be amazed just how often tickets actually do go on sale later on this is a bit of a harsh fact of ticket buying but often in the mad scramble some of those transactions at 9am wont go through it may be that somebodys card was declined or they just took too long with their purchase and

The agreement Ticketmaster has is usually with the promoter and/or the venue to promote the event and sell tickets. The artist has a totally separate deal with the promoter and booking agent. That said, its usually around a 75/25 split with the higher figure going to the artist.
Approximately 15% - 20% of the amount you spend on a ticket covers booking fees, processing fees and taxes. The remaining 85% - 80% are then split between the performer and their promoter. Now, a performer may be worth millions, but obviously would not tour at loss, or even to break even.
In some cases, the artist or their representative may receive a portion of the proceeds from the resale of tickets to their concerts. However, in other cases, the artist may not receive any payment for tickets sold through a resale site.
Concert promoters Often, the success or popularity of the artist can play a role in the split. For example, a more successful artist may get 80 percent of the proceeds while the promoter gets 20 percent whereas a lesser-known artist may split the money 50/50 with the promoter.
But, how do artists make money from concerts? Not only do artists earn a percentage of the ticket sales, they also earn from merchandise. That can include anything from concessions to clothing, from photographs to phone cases. It just depends on the artists contract with the venue.
Tickets are actually priced by artists and teams. Its their show, they get to decide what it costs to get in.
Ticketmaster charges fees to both buyers and sellers for tickets sold on their website. If you are a seller, Ticketmaster charges a seller fee or service fee that is based on the ticket price and can vary depending on a number of factors, including the event, the venue, and the location.
Some artists, teams or venues may not allow resale for certain rows, seats or events. But were continuously working with them to include 100% verified resale tickets for more events in the future. Additionally, resale isnt available for events where Ticketmaster is not the primary ticket provider.
