Cutting and pasting is almost the same as copying, with the exception being that cutting removes the selected data from the original cell. Select the cell(s) you want to cut. Click Edit on the menu bar. Select Cut.
Copy does not delete the original text. Cut removes the original text from the document. Beware, the cut text only remains on the clipboard until it is replaced.
Cut, Copy, and Paste operate exactly as when used in Windows File Explorer. Cut removes a file from one location and places the file in the location to which you Paste. Copy creates an additional copy of the file, making no changes to the original file, and places that copy in the location you Paste.
When you cut text, it is removed from its original location and placed in the Clipboard. Select the text you want to cut. Click Edit on the menu bar. Select Cut.
If you need to cross out a lot of text throughout your doc, the keyboard shortcut is the more efficient way to go. Highlight the text you want to strike through and press Alt + Shift + 5 on Windows or command + shift + X on Mac.
