In contract negotiations between the city of Minneapolis and the Police Union, the two have come to an agreement that if approved will help retain current officers and hire new ones. Sammy Selina joins us now with a closer look, Sammy Julie, the city and Union are still working toward a finalized union contract, but they did agree on these added incentives. If the city council passes this agreement, this could go into effect right away. Jacob Fry and Minneapolis police chief Brian ohara over the last three years, we have lost nearly 40% of our sworn members announced the citys agreement with the Police Union to spend $15 million on incentives for recruitment and retention. $18,000 over a 2.5 year period for existing police officers, $15,000 over that same 2.5 year period for officers that would be recruited in. Potentially, it would give ohara the power to move his officers more efficiently within the department under the current contract. Without this change
