The best resolution for banner printing is 150 dpi. At this resolution, the graphics and text on your banners will look sharp and clear. Raising your dpi on raster images to 300 or 600 dpi wont improve clarity.
A good rule of thumb for print is 200 to 300 pixels per inch. For a 20x30 poster, it would be 4000 x 6000 pixels, or around 24 megapixels. However, at this size and bigger, 150 pixels per inch (PPI) or even 100 PPI might provide crisp results.
Accepted file formats for YouTube banners are JPG, PNG, BMP, and non-animated GIF.
If it is a graphic, such as a banner, logo or navigational tool, GIF format is suggested. To use the JPEG format, select JPEG in the menu. With JPEG, it is important to take note of the file size of the image to minimize loading time. If it is too high, reduce the quality.
The resolution should be 300 dpi at final size for banners and signage meant to be seen at less than 24. We suggest a resolution of 150 dpi at final size for graphics that will be seen beyond 24.
These brief definitions will help you better understand how each file format is best used. .PDF (Preferred for most files) .EPS (Preferred for large signs and banners) .JPG (Preferred for images) .TIFF (Preferred for high resolution images)
PNG files are high-resolution images with better color depth, so they deliver good quality printouts using home or office printers. Contrary, JPEG photos may get blurry or show loss of color in printing output.
Pixel Dimensions for 4x8 banners - at 150dpi - 7200x14400 pixels; - at 300dpi - 14400x28800 pixels; As a general rule, the more detailed your artwork is, the higher DPI (pixel count) it should to be. For pictures and photographs, lower pixel/dpi counts are fine (72-100dpi).
