In Intune, for most platforms, when you create a device configuration profile, you have two policy types: Templates or the Settings Catalog. The settings catalog lists all the settings you can configure, and all in one place.
Administrative Templates are a feature of Group Policy, a Microsoft technology for centralized management of machines and users in an Active Directory environment. Administrative Templates facilitate the management of registry-based policy.

The Templates include a logical group of settings, such as kiosk, VPN, Wi-Fi, and more. Use this option if you want to use these groupings to configure your settings. The Settings catalog lists all the available settings.
