Create a basic word-processing document To open Pages, click the Pages icon in the Dock, Launchpad, or Application folder. Double-click one of the blank templates in the Basic category. Start typing. Choose File Save (from the File menu at the top of your screen), enter a name, choose a location, then click Save.
A user interface technique for Mac computers, where the Option key is depressed and held down while the mouse is clicked on an item onscreen. Depending on the context what is clicked, which app is active, etc., a variety of functions may be initiated.
Press Ctrl+F2 to move focus to the menu bar. This selects the Apple menu at the top-left of the display, whether or not youre in full-screen mode. To select a different menu, navigate using the left or right arrow keys; youll see one of the menus highlighted, like the View menu below.
Where can you find the Option key on Macs? Two Option keys can usually be found on a Mac keyboard. They are positioned to the left and right of the space bar and are marked by the ⌥ symbol. The Option keys on the Mac keyboard are found to the left and right of the space bar.
Select items on your Mac screen Select an item: Click the item. Select multiple items: Press and hold the Command key, then click the items (they dont need to be next to each other). Select multiple items that are adjacent: Click the first item, then press the Shift key and click the last item.
It is located between the Control key and the Command key on a typical Mac keyboard. There are two Option keys on modern (as of 2020) Mac desktop and notebook keyboards, one on each side of the space bar. (As of 2005, some laptops had only one to make room for the arrow keys.)
Find options in System Settings on Mac Click the System Settings icon in the Dock or choose Apple menu System Settings. Open System Settings for me. Enter a word or phrase in the search field. Settings with options that match your search text are listed below the search field. Click a listed option.
You can also click near the first item, press and hold the trackpad or mouse button, then drag over all of the items. This methods especially useful in the Icon view in the Finder. Select all items in a window: Click a window to make it active, then press Command-A.
