When a mandatory field is available in the form, it means user should fill that field without fail. Leaving the mandatory fields will cause in non submission of the form.
Mandatory fields are used when information is required in order to submit a form.
When you make a field required, people must enter an answer to the field in order to submit their entry. When someone tries to submit an entry without filling out a required field, we highlight the problematic fields and display an error message to let them know the field is required.
A distinctive sign (* symbol, mandatory mention, etc.) must be provided in the label of each mandatory field. If a symbol is used to declare mandatory fields, a statement placed at the beginning of the form must indicate that the symbol stands for a mandatory field.
If you want to make an input mandatory to be entered by the user, you can use the required attribute. This attribute can be used with any input type such as email, URL, text, file, password, checkbox, radio, etc. This can help to make any input field mandatory.
Making a field Required means that it cannot be left blank. The Type field is required on all of the page layouts, and is a controlling field for a custom field called Request Reason. This field is also required on all page layouts.
