A field configuration lets you define the behavior of all issue fields, including custom fields, that are available in your Jira applications. For each field, a field configuration lets you set: The description that appears under the field when an issue is edited.
In Grid view, select Add column New field. Important: A custom fields type cannot be changed after its created. If a custom field is the wrong type, delete the field, then create it again using the correct type.
Associate an issue type with a field configuration Select Issues. Select Fields Field configuration. This opens the View Field Configurations page, which lists all your field configurations. Select the field configuration in which you want to associate a field configuration and an issue type.
How to add a new field configuration Select Issues. In the Fields section, select Field configurations. Select Add field configuration. Enter a name that best describes your new field configuration and a description that explains when it should be used. Select Add.
Add a Custom Field to an Issue Type Click the relevant type from Settings Types. Click Manage fields in the flyout panel. Click Add custom field. Select the relevant fields. Click Add.
To configure the layout of the new Jira issue viewwhich fields appear and the order they appear inopen an issue and choose Configure at the bottom-right. To find out more about configuring the issue layout, check out Configure field layout in the issue view.
Go to your project and click Project settings. Click Fields. Click Actions Use a different scheme. Select the scheme you want to associate with this project.
