In this tutorial, Kevin shows how to create a fillable form using Microsoft Word. A fillable form allows people to fill out information without editing the form structure. Various elements like check boxes, text fields, and drop down lists can be used. The completed form can be emailed, printed, or connected to a database. Sample files are included for practice. To start, have a Word document ready to transform into a form, like the order form for the Kevin Cookie Company shown in the tutorial.

From the hamburger menu (Windows) or the File menu (macOS), select Save As Other Optimized PDF, or go to All tools Compress a PDF, and then select Advanced Optimization. The PDF Optimizer dialog opens.
Open the Search window Choose Edit Advanced Search (Shift+Ctrl/Command+F). On the Find toolbar, click the arrow and choose Open Full Acrobat Search.
In the Print dialog box, select Advanced. Note: To learn more about an option, select it. A description appears at the bottom of the dialog box.
Select Edit Advanced Search from the drop-down menu, or press Shift+Ctrl on a PC and Command+F on a Mac. The Search window will pop up, and you can select from one of the several search options below.
Create a fillable PDF from an existing PDF document. Click the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Select a file, like a Word document, Excel sheet, or scan of a paper document. Add new form fields and field names, if needed. Use the top toolbar and adjust the layout with the tools in the right pane.
Heres how: Open Acrobat, click on the Tools tab, and select Prepare Form. Select or scan a document, and Acrobat will automatically analyze your file and add form fields. Review areas highlighted in blue to be sure the fillable fields are in the correct locations. When youre done, click Close Forms Editing.
How to View/Edit the Advanced Document Settings Go to File Tab Properties or using the shortcut keys Ctrl + D (⌘ + D on Mac). Click on the Advanced Tab. Select the settings you wish to use. Click OK to apply the changes. Save the document to save the new Advanced Document settings.
