a method for converting a twoamp;#39;s complement binary byte to denry consider the following number weamp;#39;re going to convert this to denry each of the positions will have a value one two four eight all the way up to 64. now the last position here well thatamp;#39;s going to have a value of minus 128. itamp;#39;s now a case of writing down the position values for each of the bits you ignore the zeros but what you can see here that this one is worth two this one is worth 16 and this is worth minus 128. itamp;#39;s now a case of taking these values and adding them together and when you perform the addition of these three values bearing in mind that one of them is minus 128 you end up with minus 110. so this binary twoamp;#39;s complement number represents minus 110 in daenery

On the technical side, audio encoding involves sampling of the analog signal per given time (around a few milliseconds ideally), holding the sampled value, comparing it to a certain threshold voltage. The sampled voltages are then converted to binary values.
Sound waves are analogue and therefore they need to be converted into binary in order for a computer to be able to process them. To do this, the computer must convert the waveform into a numerical representation so that the waveform can be stored digitally. For this, we use an Analogue-to-Digital Convertor (ADC).
Text and other data are converted to binary by using an ASCII value (American Standard Code for Information Interchange). The value can be converted into binary if you have the ASCII value.
In a digital audio system, an analog electrical signal representing the sound is converted with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) into a digital signal, typically using pulse-code modulation (PCM).
Sound capture The signal is processed by a hardware component called an analogue to digital converter (ADC). The ADC takes a measurement of the analogue signal at regular time intervals; this process is called sampling. Each measurement (sample) is recorded as a binary number.
