Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. On todayamp;#39;s episode letamp;#39;s look at a new feature in Pages that allows you to rearrange things in your document using Sections. So Apple recently released new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. There are a lot of small new features in these. Iamp;#39;m going to look at one today. Iamp;#39;m using Pages version 5.6 and Iamp;#39;m just going to create a new blank document. In the past I could certainly look at the page thumbnails here on the left and see what pages Iamp;#39;ve done but I couldnamp;#39;t really rearrange them. They are basically a way for me to jump from page to page. Now, with Pages 5.6, I can actually rearrange them in a way that you might do say if you were writing a story and you want to have sections that you rearrange or perhaps a script or perhaps notes for class. Things like that and you kind of want to rearrange sheets of paper. You can do that using Sections. So letamp;#39;s start off by just creating a

Touch and hold an object, then with another finger, tap the other objects you want to group. Lift your fingers, then tap Group.
You can work with and arrange the objects on a page in a number of ways: Layer (or stack) objects to create the appearance of depth. Group objects to more easily move, resize, or rotate them as a single unit. Lock objects to avoid inadvertently moving, modifying, or deleting them.
You can use only one page orientation for your document. Pages doesnt support a mix of pages in portrait and landscape within the same document.
Layer objects Drag an object so it overlaps with one or more other objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. With the object selected, do one of the following: Move an object one increment at a time: Click Forward or Backward. Move an object to the very front or back of the stack: Click Front or Back.
To mask an image with a shape, click the image to select it, choose Format Image Mask With Shape, then choose a shape. Drag the handles on the shape to adjust its dimensions. You can also mask an image with your own drawn shape.
Show or hide formatting marks Show invisibles: Choose View Show Invisibles (from the View menu at the top of your screen). Note: The View button in the toolbar doesnt have this command. Hide invisibles: Choose View Hide Invisibles.
Choose a cover page and replace the sample text with your own. On the Insert tab, in the Pages group, click Cover Page. Click a cover page layout from the gallery of options.
In Page Thumbnails view, select the page you want to make the start of a new section, or click anywhere in the section you want to the new section to follow. Open the Document sidebar, then click the Section tab at the top. Click the Create a new section pop-up menu, then choose Starting with this page.
