Apply primer for a more even skin texture. Dot concealer only on the spots you want to cover. Lightly blend it into the surrounding skin with a brush or sponge. Apply foundation, tinted moisturizer, or cream all over.
Never pop a hard pimple, as it can lead to scars or infection, especially if not done correctly. There are some at-home methods a person can try to help with hard pimples. These include using products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, warm compresses, or ice packs.
How to Cover a Pimple: Step-by-Step Guide Step 1: Cleanse, Moisturize, and Treat. Step 2: Apply a Lightweight Foundation. Step 3: Tap On Concealer with a Small Brush. Step 4: Set It All In Place.
Soak a clean washcloth in hot water, then apply the warm, damp washcloth to your pimple for 10-15 minutes, three times daily. This will help the deep pimple move closer to your skins surface so it can heal. Make sure to use a clean washcloth every time, and resist popping the pimple.
If youve simply given yourself a gnarly scab thats hard to cover because its dark and bumpy, try this: I am a fan of using two concealers for a scab, says Roncal. First apply one that is white or at least super-light to act like Wite-Out. Let that dry, then cover it with a concealer in your skin tone.
Warm a pigment-packed concealer onto your fingertips and carefully pat onto the spot. Then, with a brush, work around, not on the spot, evening and buffing. This will help to soften the edges so it doesnt look obvious. If you need to touch up your concealer throughout the day, simply repeat the process.
DO: Blend Two Shades of Concealer. Using a concealer thats too light or too dark can make a pimple stand out more. Try mixing two shades of concealer to make a custom blend thats a precise match for your skin. Be careful to blend the edges of the concealed area to create a seamless line with the surrounding skin.
Use a small amount of the concealer directly on the pimple and gently blend it with your finger or with a small flat concealer brush for precision, but make sure to blend the edges to create a seamless finish, Adam says.
