Layer masking is a nondestructive way to hide parts of an image or layer without erasing them. Theyre great for making image composites, modifying background colors, removing or cutting out objects, and targeting your edits so they affect only certain areas, rather than the entire layer.
You can crop, mask, and add borders to images you have added to Google Docs and Slides. To adjust colors in Google Docs or Slides, go to docs.google.com or slides.google.com on a computer. You can trim the edges of an image or remove an unwanted section.
To fit an image into a shape in Google Slides, you can mask an image. On your computer, open a presentation. Click the image you want to mask. At the top, next to Crop , click the Down arrow . Click the shape you want. Your shape will mask your image. To adjust your shape, click and drag the colored handles.
Select the image and the shape. Select Object Mask with Shape (MacOS) or right-click the selected content and choose Mask with Shape (Windows). The portion of the image or drawing that is outside the shape is masked. To edit the content within the mask shape, double-click the masked content.
Mask with shapes Select your photo for masking. Click Mask in the right contextual menu. Click Shape in the lower left corner of the pop-up menu. Select a shape to use for masking. Place the shape on the photo and resize it by adjusting the shapes dimensions as per need. Invert masking using the Invert option.
Masks are shape layers that you can use to hide or show parts of other shapes. There are a few different ways to create masks, but they all follow the same rule: well use the shape thats lowest in the Layer List as the mask.
1:00 1:57 Layer. Click on this icon. And then create a mask if i click right here. And if i then and then if iMoreLayer. Click on this icon. And then create a mask if i click right here. And if i then and then if i try to create a mask its gonna create a new shape. So make. Sure.
