Leather and vinyl repair kits come with colored patches, sandpaper, a cleaning solution, at least 1 patch, and adhesive. Buy one that has a patch that closely matches the color of your damaged faux leather item. These kits are commonly marketed for repairing leather and faux leather furniture and car seats.
Just like shoe goo, Modge Podge can be used as a seal of sorts to even out the finish of scuffed faux leather. To repair the shoes, just clean the scuffed marks with a dampened cloth then air-dry.
Shoe polish is ideal for repairing faux leather, but its not suitable for all vegan leather products. If you intend to try this method, remove the damaged area using fine sandpaper and apply matching shoe polish using a clean rag.
There are shoe care products known as renovator creams available that are designed for the purpose of fixing scuffs within leather shoes. A renovator cream is similar to a shoe polish but more viscous with restorative paste-like properties and is often viewed as a repair cream or shoe scuff remover.
Shoe Goo. Shoe Goo could work as a sealant to the scuffed areas while also giving the surface of the material an even finish. This product comes in a variety of colors so find a shade that matches your scuffed dance shoes. To repair the shoes, just clean the scuffed marks with a dampened cloth then air-dry.
Moisten a cotton ball or swab with white vinegar (distilled). Dab the damaged area with the vinegar-soaked cotton ball to slightly swell the leather. Allow the area to dry. Polish the area using a colorless shoe polish for optimal results.
Apply a small amount of polish to the scuffed area and use a soft cloth or a shoe brush to spread it evenly. Allow the polish to dry, then buff it with a clean cloth to achieve a polished finish. The polish will cover up the scuff and provide a layer of protection for the leather.
Yes, it is possible to remove scratches from faux leather without damaging the material further. One way to do this is by using a mixture of water and vinegar or rubbing alcohol to gently rub the affected area. Another method is to use a colorless shoe polish or a leather conditioner to cover up the scratch.
