The ampersand () is a special character in XML used to begin entity references. To treat it as data, it must be escaped as amp;. This preserves its intended meaning while maintaining XML structure.
You can mask the data in the XML format payloads using the tag in the log policy XML file. This table explains the field names for masking the data in an XML payload. Specifies the XPath for the field. The value of this field is masked.
It is illegal to omit the closing tag when you are creating XML syntax. XML elements must have a closing tag.
An opening tag begins a section of page content, and a closing tag ends it. For example, to markup a section of text as a paragraph, you would open the paragraph with an opening paragraph tag and close it with a closing paragraph tag (closing tags always proceed the element with a /).
These are special sequences that instead represent other characters. XML entities always start with an ampersand character and end with a semicolon character ;. The name of the entity is then between these two characters. For example, the entity lt; is used to represent the less-than character
The main content of an XML document consists entirely of XML elements. An element usually consists of a start tag and an end tag, with plain text content or other XML elements in between. A start tag is of the form and an end tag has the form .
An XML element is required to have a closing tag. With XML it is illegal to omit the closing tag. An XML element can be closed in two possible ways; non-empty closed element and empty closed element.
Close tag keyboard shortcut Bring up Command Palette ( F1 , or Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows and Linux, or Shift+CMD+P on OSX) Type or select Close Tag: Close last opened HTML/XML tag
