The monocular cover-uncover test is the most important test for detecting manifest strabismus and for distinguishing a heterophoria from a heterotropia (Fig 7-1; Video 7-1). As the target is viewed, one eye is covered and the opposite eye observed for any movement, which would indicate a heterotropia.
A question which passes the cover test is one where the answer can be arrived at without the aid of reading the alternatives (i.e. can you answer the question when the alternatives are covered).
Cover testing is the gold standard for the objective method for determining the presence, type, and magnitude of ocular misalignment (strabismus). It is typically performed by the ophthalmologist, orthoptist, or ophthalmic technician. Cover testing can be done at both near and distance.
Eliminate the highest and lowest options. Certain questions have answers that are closely related or almost identical, except for one detail. This should be your clue to choose one of the two similar answers. The similar choices cannot both be correct, but either of them may be the correct answer.
A multiple-choice question (MCQ) is composed of two parts: a stem that identifies the question or problem, and a set of alternatives or possible answers that contain a key that is the best answer to the question, and several distractors that are plausible but incorrect answers to the question.
There is no particular option that is mostly correct in MCQ questions. The only way to finalize your answer is through elimination method. Read the question. Cancel out the incorrect options that you are sure of. Read the question again. Compare the options that are left.
The simultaneous prism cover test is frequently used for measuring a manifest squint angle. In this paper an alternative method for measuring a manifest squint angle is described. While a subject fixes on a fixation object in near or far position, one eye illuminated from below with a collimated visible light beam.
Code Coverage is a metric used in Software Testing that quantifies the extent to which the source code of a program is tested. It measures the percentage of code executed by the test suite, helping developers identify untested parts of an application.
