What makes a good ebook cover? Draw people in with an e-book cover that uses an eye-catching color scheme, unique typography, a title that is clear and easy to read, minimal graphics, and balance between text and negative space. Be sure your cover will also look good as a thumbnail image.
To ensure the best quality for your image, particularly on high definition devices, the height of the image should be at least 2,500 pixels. Ideal dimensions for cover files are 1,600 x 2,560 pixels.
If the Template settings tab is not displayed, click Customize. On the Template settings tab, click Cover Picture. This displays a drop-down menu of the images in your library. Select the image that youd like to display on the cover of your eBook.
Note that its important to get the size and the resolution of the image right: We use 300 pixels per inch (PPI) in our books, and we recommend you use that for your images. Any smaller PPI is scaled up to 300 PPI. Since we scale up to 300 PPI, your image may look blurry if its a smaller PPI.
You can add image (jpg, png, gif) in epub by adding relevant html tags in HTML file. How do you import Kindle books into Calibre? There are two methods: Physically connect your Kindle to the computer using calibre.
The file format PNG = high resolution + supports transparency. TIFF = popular in photography and printing, high image quality (but large file size) PDF = fixes the file exactly the way how you want others to see it (regardless of device type or size)
Ideal dimensions for cover files are 2,560 pixels in height x 1,600 pixels in width. For best quality, particularly on high definition devices, your image should be 2500 pixels in height.
