Most companies keep sensitive personal information in their filesnames, Social Security numbers, credit card, or other account datathat identifies customers or employees.
Personal information can be recorded in any format, including: paper records, such as written case notes. electronic records, such as in a client information system. photographs and video footage, including from security cameras.
Examples of personal information are: a persons name, address, phone number or email address. a photograph of a person. a video recording of a person, whether CCTV or otherwise, for example, a recording of events in a classroom, at a train station, or at a family barbecue.
Remove Metadata From Word Using a Mac Open the file from which you would like to remove metadata. Click on the Tools menu and select the Protect Document option. In the Protect Document window check the box next to Remove personal information from this file on save. Finish working on your document and then save.
The author and contact information that you specify automatically appears in all your Office documents, including those that you share with other people, unless you remove your personal information from a document.
On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Personal Settings, click Security . Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the document. Notes: The following personal information is removed from your file:
Right-click on the file. View its Properties. If there is metadata that you would like to remove, select the Details tab. Click Remove Properties and Personal Information.
Click Inspect Document. Click Inspect. The Document Inspector will scan your file for personal information. Click Remove All if Document Inspector finds personal information in your file. Now click Close then save your document.
