To allow hidden languages to be accessible to specific users, go to Users - All Users, click Edit next to the user you want to grant access to. In the WPML language settings section, check the Display hidden languages checkbox and then click the Update Profile button to save the changes.
In most cases, your translated strings dont appear on the front-end because your WP Memory Limit is set too low. By default, WordPress sets the WP Memory Limit to 40M. However, the minimum requirement to use WPML is 128M. If you dont increase it, translations wont save correctly and may not appear on your site. We advised the client to navigate to WPML Languages and access the Menu Language Switcher section. There, they should edit the current language switcher and ensure that the current language option is unchecked. This setting will prevent the default language from being displayed when no translations are available.
You can do this while you are still translating your site into a new language if you dont want to show the site partially translated. To hide a language on the front-end, go to the WPML Languages page and in the Hide languages section select all the languages that you want to hide.
To display untranslated content for all posts belonging to specific post types: Go to the WPML Settings page. Scroll down to the Post Types Translation section and select the second option, Translatable use translation if available or fallback to default language, for all post types you need.
