A basic paragraph typically consists of three main parts: the topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding/transition sentence. The topic sentence introduces the main idea or topic of the paragraph, while the supporting sentences provide details, examples, or evidence to support the main idea.
The monocular cover-uncover test is the most important test for detecting manifest strabismus and for distinguishing a heterophoria from a heterotropia (Fig 7-1; Video 7-1). As the target is viewed, one eye is covered and the opposite eye observed for any movement, which would indicate a heterotropia.
Various educators teach rules governing the length of paragraphs. They may say that a paragraph should be 100 to 200 words long, or be no more than five or six sentences.
A multiple-choice question (MCQ) is composed of two parts: a stem that identifies the question or problem, and a set of alternatives or possible answers that contain a key that is the best answer to the question, and several distractors that are plausible but incorrect answers to the question.
What is a paragraph? A paragraph is a series of sentences about one main idea, or point. A paragraph typically starts with a point, and the rest of the paragraph provides specific details to support and develop that point. A paragraph is the main idea of an essay.
A question which passes the cover test is one where the answer can be arrived at without the aid of reading the alternatives (i.e. can you answer the question when the alternatives are covered).
Simply put, a paragraph should be as long or as short as necessary to develop a main idea. There is no absolute rule for how many sentences a paragraph must have. A paragraph can have two to three sentences, but the typical maximum number is five sentences to be considered a good paragraph.
Every paragraph should be at least five sentences long. Good paragraphs must be at least one page long.
Instructional Technology Services recommends the following: Multiple Choice questions - 1 minute to 1 minutes per question.
Cover testing is the gold standard for the objective method for determining the presence, type, and magnitude of ocular misalignment (strabismus). It is typically performed by the ophthalmologist, orthoptist, or ophthalmic technician. Cover testing can be done at both near and distance.
