How to remove page numbers from the first page only in Word Click Header. Select Edit Header. Open the Design tab. Check Different First Page from the Options group. Choose Close Header and Footer. Double-click on the header or footer containing the page number. Highlight and delete the page number.
On the Insert tab, click Cover Page. Click a cover page layout from the gallery of options. After you insert a cover page, you can replace the sample text with your own text by clicking to select an area of the cover page, such as the title, and typing your text.
Remove the page number from the first page Go to Insert Header Footer. Select Options on the right side, and then select Different First Page. Select Options again, and then select Remove Page Numbers. To see your page numbers and confirm deletion of the number from the first page, go to View Reading View.
Insert page numbers On the Insert tab, select. If you dont want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
Step 3: Change beginning page number With the header open, select page 3 on page 3. Click Page Number in the Header Footer group. Select Format Page Numbers. In the Page Numbering section of the resulting dialog, select the Start At option and enter 1, as shown in Figure G. Click OK.
To put a blank page into your Word document, place the cursor where you want the new page to begin and then select Insert Blank Page. The blank page opens, ready for whatever you want to add. Another option when you need a little space is to insert a page break.
To ensure your pages begin with 1, go to the Insert tab Page Number. Select Format Page Numbers Page numbering Start at and add 1.
Uncheck Show number on first page, and then click Format. Select your desired format. At the bottom of the window, select Start at:, and then select the number just below what you want your first page number to be (e.g., if you want the page after the title page to be page 1, select 0 as the starting page number).
