What does 11111 mean in binary? The binary number 11111 means 31 in the decimal system.

The binary number 11111111 is equal to the decimal number 255.
Binary numbers are 0 and 1. It is one of the computer languages. The answer is 101110. Therefore in binary division 111111111/1011 is 101110.
127 in binary is 1111111. Unlike the decimal number system where we use the digits 0 to 9 to represent a number, in a binary system, we use only 2 digits that are 0 and 1 (bits).
Each position in the number looking from right to left represents a power of the number 2. Which is why todays date (111111), written in binary, equals 63 (32+16+8+4+2+1).
In binary, its all 1s and 0s. So, the step before 256 is all 1s. Therefore, 255 in binary is 11111111. The step before any power of 2 is a string of 1s.
The basic solution is 16+8+4+2+1=31. However if you add 1 to 11111 you get 100000 and so another way of looking at it (and one that all software engineers dealing with binary will mentally perform for any sequences of all 1s) is that the answer is 32-1=31.
