* * Use a lampshade : * * If you do nt have a dimmer switch or a smart plug , you can try using a lampshade to dim the light . Lampshades come in a variety of materials , including fabric , paper , and metal . The material of the lampshade will affect how much light it blocks .
Reduce the wattage To address this, start by checking the wattage of the LED bulbs youve installed. If they seem too bright, consider testing a lower wattage. Some LED bulbs may include a conversion factor on their packaging, indicating the equivalent in traditional light bulbs.
Painted Tape Start by placing a piece of clear scotch tape over the LED light you want to cover up. Then paint over the tape with a bit of black nail polish or a black permanent marker to prevent the light from shining through.
#1 Use a Dimmer Switch Dimmer switches are widely available and can be easily installed in place of a regular switch. Once installed, the switch allows you to adjust the amount of electricity flowing to the LED lights, which in turn controls the brightness of the light.
The quick fix Cut a small piece of transparent tape and place it over the status light. Draw over the tape with a black permanent marker. If that doesnt diffuse the light enough for your needs, try painting over it with a couple coats of black fingernail polish.
WhiteDims are the perfect solution to dim/soften overhead ceiling lights without making the room dark. If the lights are still too bright simply add another layer of White Dims.
