Technically, no, you cant edit Mobi files directly. But you can unpack a Mobi file to HTML + OPF/NCX (or convert it to ePub), make your edits, and then recompile your new and improved Mobi. There is a Calibre plugin called Mobi Unpack that will extract the mobi and you can edit the html file to your liking.
Step-by-step guide: How to add a cover image to ePub and Kindle eBooks Place the cover picture youd like to use in your library. Click the top half of the Generate help button in the Home ribbon tab. Select the ePub or Mobi/Kindle build youd like to modify in the build list. Click Generate to publish your eBook.
To add a cover to an ebook, open up the ebook in docHub Reader and click on the Edit menu. From here, you can select Cover from the menu. docHub Reader will then displays a dialogue box where you can select a cover file to use.
Select your book. Once your books loaded in, right click on the book in Calibre select Edit Metadata Edit Metadata Individually. Youll see a Change Cover Option. Browse your cover add it.
5 Answers the Calibre software and start the program. Copy the ebook.mobi file to your PC. Drag the book onto the Calibre software UI. Right click and select edit metadata for individual book you want to change. There is option to browse and select the cover that you want. Save the file.
How to update your cover Go to your Bookshelf. Next to the book you want to update, click the ellipsis button (). Choose Edit content. Scroll down to the Cover section. Choose Launch Cover Creator or Upload your cover file to update your cover or upload a cover you already have.
Select the ePub or Mobi/Kindle build youd like to modify in the build list. If the Template settings tab is not displayed, click Customize. On the Template settings tab, click Cover Picture. This displays a drop-down menu of the images in your library.
You can easily add a cover to the book via Tools Add cover. This allows you to either choose an existing image in the book as the cover or import a new image into the book and make it the cover.
