The simplest way to add headings is to use heading styles. Select the text you want to use as a heading. On the Home tab, click the heading style you want to use. If you dont see the style you want, click a left, right, or down arrow to see more available styles.
To collapse or expand all the headings in your document, right-click the heading and click Expand/Collapse Expand All Headings or Collapse All Headings.
To remove numbering from the heading styles, do the following: In the Apply Styles pane (Ctrl+Shift+S), type in Heading 1 and click the Modify button. Click the Format drop down and choose Numbering. Click the None option, even if it already appears to be selected. Confirm the new settings by clicking OK twice.
Apply shading to words or paragraphs Select the word or paragraph that you want to apply shading to. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Shading. Under Theme Colors, click the color that you want to use to shade your selection.
