The key to choosing and creating the right images is understanding the header size and how it changes across different browser sizes and devices. The last thing you want is to crop out someone or lose an important message in one of the most important parts of your page.
Resize the inserted picture so that it fits properly within a cell, make the cell bigger if needed, or merge a few cells. Right-click the picture and select Format Picture On the Format Picture pane, switch to the Size Properties tab, and select the Move and size with cells option.
Click in the [Picture] text of the image. On the Design tab under Header Footer Tools, click Format Picture in the Header Footer Elements group. On the Size tab, adjust the size of the image to fit inside the header or footer section. Click OK.
To position an image under a header, you can use HTML and CSS. You can wrap your header and image inside a container element and then use CSS to give them display properties that help position them vertically.
