okay as promised this is the quick and dirty way to quickly clean up some of your PDF conversion in Calibri Iamp;#39;m going to use this PDF of a self pub by Lissa Casey that weamp;#39;ve been working on because I know itamp;#39;s got headers and page numbers and stuff we need to work on so hereamp;#39;s the original PDF Iamp;#39;ll show you no flip through it really quickly as you can see there are headers and there are page numbers which as you guys know Colibri will throw into your final epub and mobi file if you donamp;#39;t explicitly take them out so I will show you how to do that so like I said here is the original PDF that we are working from so Iamp;#39;m going to do this in a couple of steps so letamp;#39;s go to convert books Iamp;#39;m actually going to uncheck everything that Iamp;#39;ve let me let me remove these because weamp;#39;re going to put them back ok so Iamp;#39;m going to just this is just clean not any conversion whatsoever letamp;#39;s see yes oka

Go to Insert on the menu bar and select Header/Footer. Select different first page.
They are important because headers and footers provide the page structure that is consistent throughout a book. This is where helpful or important information is contained, such as page numbers, a book title, an author name or chapter titles.
Change or delete a header or footer on a single page Double-click the first page header or footer area. Check Different First Page to see if its selected. If not: Select Different First Page. Add your new content into the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
Step-by-step guide: How to add a cover image to ePub and Kindle eBooks Place the cover picture youd like to use in your library. Click the top half of the Generate help button in the Home ribbon tab. Select the ePub or Mobi/Kindle build youd like to modify in the build list. Click Generate to publish your eBook.
Remove all headers and footers Go to Insert Header or Footer, and then select Remove Header or Remove Footer. If your document has more than one section, repeat this process for each section.
On the Insert tab, click Cover Page. Click a cover page layout from the gallery of options. After you insert a cover page, you can replace the sample text with your own text by clicking to select an area of the cover page, such as the title, and typing your text.
Remove the page number from the first page Go to Insert Header Footer. Select Options on the right side, and then select Different First Page. Select Options again, and then select Remove Page Numbers.
Page numbers, headers, footers. eBooks are reflowable and can be viewed with different font sizes, so page numbers and page count dont apply. Also, eBooks dont have headers and footers, so you dont need to add them to your file. For in-depth instructions, see Creating Reflowable Books.
