Fingerpaint My favorite way to cover up a blank canvas is to fingerpaint. There can never be a wrong way and its so fun to smoosh paint around. I squeeze out 2-3 colors right onto my painting surface, smudge them together and add extra fingerprints to see what happens.
You can also use an old journal that has extra pages to cut a piece out of. Just glue it over your mistake and start again. White Pen There are also white gel pens that do a great job for covering small areas. I like the Uni-ball Signo 153 gel pen with white ink.
- Parchment paper This translucent waxy paper is one of your best allies when it comes to preserving your graphite drawings. Although parchment paper is the optimal choicethe graphite will keep better in placeyou can also put a white sheet of paper on the drawing to protect it.
Storing Finished Artworks on Paper Once an artwork is finished, it is best to keep the work flat in an archival portfolio rather than stacked. If the paper needs to be stacked, then a sheet of glassine paper between the sheets will protect the painted surface from abrasion.
Paintings on paper are the most fragile: heat, direct sunlight, and moisture should be avoided as much as possible. Thats why theyre most often covered with UV-protective glass. Direct sunlight, in general, should be avoided.
something like Krylon Triple Thick would be perfect because it will seal the mixed media piece and give it a finished look. Resin: Another suggestion would be to pour resin over the finished mixed media piece to help seal all the various elements together under a sturdy, protective coating.
To cover up a bad drawing is to waste time overworking something. You can cut out the page. You can glue another piece of paper over it and draw on that or make another drawing and glue that on. You can glue a photo over it or make a collage on top.
