To hide the file list or preview panes altogether, click on the thin panels at the side of the vertical divider bars. You can restore the file list and preview panels by clicking on the respective arrow buttons again.
It is often necessary to comment out temporarily a region of TeX or LaTeX code. This can be done with the commands C-c ; and C-c % . C-c ; will comment out all lines in the current region, while C-c % will comment out the current paragraph.
Click the small triangle next to the line number of the chapter, part, section, or subsection label command to fold or unfold the code. This makes it possible to hide away portions of your code that youre not currently working on. You can read more about code folding at here and here.
This new command is \blackout, and is used in the form \blackout{Block of text}. This nice thing about this command is that it can stretch across line, paragraph, and page boundaries conveniently.
Redefine \includegraphics To hide all figures, add the following line after declaring packages (i.e. after usepackage commands). Here you redefine \includegraphics to do nothing instead of showing the figures.
LaTex beamer has the \invisible command which holds the space for the text but doesnt display it. We can create a new command with an if statement stating whether or not we want to use \invisible .

As simple \def\hide#1{\textcolor{white}{#1}} to hide and \def\hide#1{#1} to unhide. Obviously, the advantage/disadvantage of a white text with respect a true \phantom text is that you can still select and copy the hidden text in the PDF viewer.
