The Bates numbering tool in Nuance PDF makes handling large and complicated document collections much easier and more effective. Click Edit Bates Numbering Add. Open the Nuance PDF app and click Edit from the top. Choose the Bates numbering preferences.

Bates numbering is a method of indexing legal documents for easy identification and retrieval. Each page of each document is assigned a unique Bates number that also indicates its relationship to other Bates-numbered documents. Bates numbers appear as headers or footers on the pages of each PDF in the batch.
Open your PDF document. Navigate to the Tools menu and select Edit PDF. You will find there are many options on the top toolbar. Click on More option and then choose Bates Numbering.
