There is no commitment to military service of any kind, for the cadets or adults involved. The focus of the CCF is to give young people opportunities for personal development outside of the classroom.
The badge should be sewn onto the panel on the right arm of the smock.
Cadet Corps shoulder flashes should be sewn at the very top of the sleeves, with the top edges at the seams. RCAC badges should be sewn so that the bottom edges are 12 cm from the top of the sleeves.
The cap badge, also known by some regiments as a cypher or the motto, is worn on Army berets and headdress and is a great source of pride to soldiers. It is an easy way of identifying the wearers regiment and embodies the spirit of that unit and its historical lineage.
The cap badge is a special part of British army headdress intended to represent the emblems of unique regiments. Regimental insignia derives from military traditions in the Middle Ages, and thus cap badge designs are a type of heraldry. Cap badges were first worn in 1897 following a period of changes in army headdress.
Soldiers wear a badge on their uniform headdress as a way of identifying the regiment or corps to which they belong. Many badges feature symbols that are important to the unit. These might include links to a sovereign or royal dynasty, the regiments city or county origins, or a famous battle honour.
The army astronaut device was approved on May 17, 1983. The black version of the device and its sew-on equivalent may be worn on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU); the silver wings with gold device version is authorized for wear on Army Service Uniforms. It is believed to be the rarest badge issued by the U.S. Army.
The Armys Command Assessment Programs (CAP) mark a bold step forward to ensure that our most talented leaders are selected for command and primary general staff billets.
Cadet units in schools are supported financially by the Ministry of Defence but are not part of the Armed Forces.
IDENTIFICATION BADGE to be worn centrally 6mm (1/4) from the top edge of the armlet. DISTINGUISHING BADGE to be worn in a central positon immediately below the identification badge.
