Before we insert a full-page background image in Word, we need to be clear on our goal. If our document has only a single page or we want to have the SAME background image on EVERY SINGLE PAGE of a longer document, then we should insert the image into the header and footer area of the document. Lets call this option 1. Since the image will be stored in the header amp;amp; footer area, this option has the advantage, that we dont have to worry about accidently moving or deleting it while we are editing the standard text content. However, if we have a document with multiple pages and want to have a MIX OF DIFFERENT IMAGES across these pages, then we should insert the image into the standard editing area of the document as this will be the easier method when MULTIPLE DIFFERENT images are needed. Select Insert. Select the shape, and go to Shape Format to open the Format Pane. Select Fill Picture or gradient fill and then drag the Transparency slider to set the exact percentage of transparency you want.
