To create paragraph indent in a letter, use the ruler and press tab at the beginning of each paragraph. The First Line Indent moves marker 1/2 inch. Other markers include Hanging Indent, Left Indent, and Right Indent. This only affects selected parts, not the whole document. Drag the markers to adjust indents. Hanging Indent moves all lines except the first. Left Indent moves all of the lines to the left.
