Here is a list of important items to include in a freelance photographer contract: Description of work. You should have a clear description of the work you will perform and your deliverables. Event date. Number of photos. Pay rate. Time of payment. Spot for a signature.
For this system, youll include people, event, date and location in the files name. Andi Willis, a professional photo organizer, highly recommends using a system that starts with the year, then month and then day. The location, event and people follow.
The classic convention for titling an image is to identify the subject (name the person, place or thing) and add the date of creation: if its a photograph use the date of exposure; if its a painting use the date of completion; if its a composite photograph default to the latter; if its an image of a historic event
Theres no single right answer, and your naming system should be based on your specific needs. Each file name should convey enough information for you to easily determine what each photo is. Youll likely want to include the date and client name in each file. You may also add a descriptor for an event.
In Windows Explorer (or Windows Photo Viewer), right mouse click on a photo a select Properties. In the dialog box that pops up, select Details. There is a section called Description with the fields: Title, Subject, Rating, Tags, and Comments. Title is the EXIF Comment field. Tags is the IPTC Keyword field.
The liability and indemnification section limits your legal responsibility for any damages or losses that may occur during or after the photography project. It also states that the client will indemnify you from any claims or lawsuits that may arise from their use of your photos.
In effectively tagging and labeling digital photos, consider using consistent and descriptive keywords. Include dates, locations, subjects, and themes in your tags.
