hello friends welcome back to my channel in this video we are going to learn about three text functions left right and mid okay so lets see how we can use that in my previous uh text function videos ive already shown you however use the example dataset from the power bi okay so for that what you need to do just go to the help file example and sample data set from there you can load one sample data set okay which is financials first we are going to create one calculated column using this left text function how little just click on new column just type test left equal to okay now you can observe we need to pass one text string and the number of characters that means from this text column or text string how many characters we are going to extract from the left side okay so i am going to use segment column i hope you remember the segment column in my previous video i have already uh showed lets see im going to extract the from the left side the first three characters okay number three
