Open your CSV using a text editor. Press Enter/Return to create a new line at the very top, and add sep=; if the separator used in the CSV is a semicolon (;), or sep=, if the separator is a comma (,). Save your changes (command + S or control + S), then re-open in any Spreadsheet app.
Resolution Open the CSV in Notepad. (Dont use Excel to open the CSV file because the quotation marks may not be visible in Excel). On the Edit menu, select Replace. In the Find what box, type , leave the Replace with box blank, and then select Replace All. Note. Save the file, and then import it to Microsoft 365.
UltraEdit can be particularly useful where column editing is required, because of its Convert to fixed width and Convert to CSV features. Using these powerful tools, you can convert a file from character delimited fields to fixed-width columns and back.
There are a few different ways to align cells when importing from CSV in Excel. One way is to use the Text Import Wizard. This wizard can be found under the Data tab, in the Get External Data group. Click on the From Text/CSV option and select your CSV file.
Saving in Microsoft Excel Open a . CSV document in Microsoft Excel. Click File. Select Save As Select File Type as CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (. csv). Click Save. If prompted, choose Keep Current Format.
To Create a General Table using an . xls or . csv File On the ribbon, click Annotate tab Table panel General . In the Table dialog box, click Browse to locate a Microsoft Excel (. In the Data Start Cell field, specify the cell from which to start referencing data for the table. Specify the column header row.
To edit your csv files, we strongly advise you to use a simple text editor such as Notepad++ or Sublime Text. Using Excel to edit your files is more complex: Excel renders certain values such as ICCID or IMEI in numbers and truncates them, leading to information being not easily usable.
CSV (comma delimited) will not open correctly and the data within will be displayed incorrectly. This is due to regional Excel settings that have default list separator options where files will either be read with a comma separator or semicolon separator.
