Hi, welcome back to the photoshoptrainingchannel.com. Im Jesus Ramirez. In this video, Im going to show you how to resize an image without stretching it in Photoshop. Im going to show you two different examples, one with photography and another one with graphic design, that are going to give you a very good understanding of how this technique works. Theres really not that much to it, so why dont we jump right into the tutorial? This is the first document that Im going to work with. It contains a layer of a car, and you can see that there is some transparency here on the side. And if you press Ctrl T, Command T to transform that layer and scale it, youre obviously going to scale all the pixels uniformly. All the pixels are going to scale at the same time. And if you wanted to do this, but only affect the background, or the areas that are not important, then Photoshop has a great tool for that. Im going to press the Escape key, and Im going to go into Edit, Content Over Scale.

As a general rule, an images file size should be no more than 10MB, and its dimensions should be less than 40004000 pixels for it to be used in Photoshop. The ideal file size and dimensions for an image depend on its purpose.
Open your image in Photoshop. Go to Image, located at the top of the window. Select Image Size.
Adjusting Color and Clarity in Photoshop Right click the image. Find the Adjustments. Click the options you want to improve-Brightness/Contrast/Hue/Saturation/Shadows/Highlights/ Click Filter-Sharpen.
19201080 pixels is the size of a standard image that can be created in Photoshop. This size is the same as the resolution of a HDTV. When working with images that are this size, it is important to remember that you will need to scale them down if you want to use them in other applications or share them with others.
An image size of 1280 x 720 pixels is large enough to be HD standard and is commonly used in photography and film. This size uses a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also common in filmmaking.
In the case of a monitor with an industry-standard Full HD 1080p resolution, this display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This means that the screen will have a width of 1,920 pixels while the height of the screen will be 1,080 pixels. This results in a grand total of 2,073,600 pixels on-screen.
The resolution 19201080 (1080p) is quite a bit wider than it is tall. The ratio of its width to height is 16 to 9, represented as an aspect ratio 16:9.
The generally accepted value is 300 pixels/inch. Printing an image at a resolution of 300 pixels/inch squeezes the pixels in close enough together to keep everything looking sharp. In fact, 300 is usually a bit more than you need.
Anything at or above 1440 dpi is good. Some printers allow you to select the appropriate dpi setting for your needs, for example 300 dpi for a draft image or 1200 dpi for a finished print.
Going to Image Image Size. The Image Size dialog box in Photoshop CC. The current size, both in pixels (px) and in megabytes (M), is found at the top. The number next to the words Image Size shows the amount of space that the image is taking up in your computers memory.
