Fill in the senders information, including their name, address, and contact details. Provide the recipients information, such as their name, address, and contact details. Include a description of the delivered items, including the quantity and any specific details such as size or color.
Proof of delivery comes in two different forms: a paper POD and an electronic POD (or ePOD). An electronic POD is a digital document customers sign with an electronic signature, and/or the delivery driver has to scan a code or take a photo of the delivery at the doorstep to show completion.
In the United States, DHL, UPS and FedEx as well as the US postal service (USPS) provide proof of delivery. Commercial fleet operators also need to be able to confirm proof of delivery of goods to their customers.
Proof of delivery is a two-way verification process. Both the recipient and sender have to sign off on the document to confirm a successful delivery. In the case of direct-to-consumer delivery, the customer signs the document.
A proof of delivery document (POD) is a receipt showing that goods have been handed over to the right person at the right place. The main different types of POD are: A physical signature on a paper document. A photograph.
USPS Signature Confirmation: The recipient or any other responsible adult in the residence can sign for the package. USPS Adult Signature Confirmation: Someone 21 years or older must sign for the package. USPS Restricted Delivery: Only a specified person can sign for and receive the package.
Traditional manual proof of delivery involves a physical document, such as a paper receipt or signed form. This shipper signs this form when the package is sent, and then the recipient signs it when the goods are delivered.
Signing for Deliveries Whenever possible, the person receiving the product should sign the receiving documents provided by the supplier or shipping company. The person receiving the delivery should inspect the items before signing the receipt and should also initial the packing list.
