What to Know. Plug your charging cable in, and youre good to go. Newer MacBook Pros can charge on either side, but its recommended to only use the right-hand side. You can use phone chargers to recharge newer MacBook Pros, but it will take a long time.
To charge the battery, use the MagSafe 3 port or any of the Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports on your 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro, or any of the Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports on your 13-inch MacBook Pro.
While charging the MacBook Pro and having peripherals plugged in to the left-hand ports, the devices ports can get hot; for some reason, this can result in kerneltask going a bit haywire and using up a whole boatload of system resources. The same is not true if you use the right-hand ports.
Control-click on a Mac is similar to right-click on a Windows computerits how you open shortcut (or contextual) menus on a Mac. Control-click: Press and hold the Control key while you click an item. For example, Control-click an icon, a window, the toolbar, the desktop, or another item.
You can set up a left click function on your MacBook Pro using your trackpad by changing the settings. All you need to do is go to System Preferences Trackpad Point Click. If you then turn on the Tap to click option youll be able to left click without a mouse.
The Macintosh offers a key labeled Control (or, on laptops, ctrl), but it isnt the equivalent of the PCs Ctrl key. The Macs Control key is primarily for helping you right-click things, as described earlier. Instead, the Macintosh equivalent of the Windows Ctrl key is the ⌘ key. Its right next to the space bar.
