hey guys welcome back to suburban ranch so we left off working on our 1990 gmc k1500 by removing the transmission with the transmission out its a great time to tackle the rear main seal this is a later model small block chevy so it has the one piece remain sealed that you can only address with that transmission out so were going to show you how to do that today [Music] here we are looking at the back of the engine so weve got a view of the flex plate and there are six bolts these are 9 16 and then theres one roll pin here as well so well go ahead and buzz these six bolts off and we should be able to slide this flex plate off [Music] so well wiggle the flex plate here a little bit and there we go so there is a look at the back of the engine and right here is the rear main seal that were going to be replacing weve cleaned up the back of the engine so that nothing falls in once we pry this seal out if you look right around the edge youll see three little notches so theres one h
