okay this is a problem with the dell xps 15 that ive had for the longest time ive never been able to fix and uh they made some updates to their troubleshooter and i think maybe i found it so um so the issue is like the default microphone within the xps 15 and i this is like two two and a half years old now its a two and a half year old machine ive had the problem the whole time like the default audio recorder and the default media like video player would have troubles playing audio and just like the files it just wouldnt work like i couldnt record id have to get an external microphone and then with certain applications even other microphones wouldnt work very well uh theyd come in crackly or really distorted and it was crazy frustrating so apparently this update through the troubleshooter brought me here to the speakers and headphones properties and under advanced they told me to uncheck the enable audio enhancements and the line actually says disable those because enabling a
