hello my name is ruth carter and im a licensed attorney in arizona and this is your question of the day so somebody asked me they said i need to get permission to use images from movies for my t-shirt company im starting up how do i go about that do they have a website where i can buy these licenses i dont know how this works all right well kudos to you for realizing that you cant just take images from a movie and stick them on a shirt and sell them that is likely copyright infringement um what you need is to get permission from the copyright holder so i would probably start by looking at the movies website to see who owns the copyright i would expect there to be a copyright notice on the site about the film and if for some reason the movie doesnt have its own website i would look at imdb to see who the copyright holder is who the production company is and go through that process because you would have to determine who has the copyright rights or what company is managing the copy
